Unity of Port St Lucie,
having been without a minister for over four years, has named Rev. Linda Machesic as their new minister. Licensed Teacher, Donna
McGonnell, who has served as spiritual leader for the same four
years plus says she is delighted to continue to support the center
in many ways, but very happy to finally have a minister.
Rev. Linda, a native Pennsylvanian,
is married with one daughter, Lisa, a son-in-law, and three
grandchildren. She and her husband, Melvin Wolfberg, reside in Vero
Beach where they've been since 1996. Rev. Linda has said their home
in Vero is on the market and, as soon as it sells, they intend to
relocate to Port St Lucie.
Rev. Linda
earned her bachelor's degree from Temple University and her Master's
from Villanova University. She taught school at Lincoln Park
Academy in Ft Pierce and opened a Sylvan Learning Center in Vero
Beach, which she operated for over ten years.
Having turned
from organized religion for over twenty years, Rev. Linda found her
spiritual home with Unity in 1996 in Vero Beach. She became so
engrossed in the teachings she felt called to ministry at Unity
School of Christianity in 2004. Ordained in 2007, Rev. Linda has
served temporarily at both Unity Center of Vero Beach and Unity of
Melbourne. Port St Lucie feels like home, she says.
