Rev. Ron served in the United States Air Force for four years and then attended Ithaca College, where he majored in Radio and Television. His first career was as Scout Executive with the Boy Scouts of America for 16 years, his last position as Director of Field Service for 33,000 Scouts and 10,000 volunteers of the Cleveland Area Council in Cleveland, Ohio. He then served two years as Executive Director of the Rotary Club of Cleveland, at that time the second largest Rotary club in the world with 625 members. Rev. Neff’s last career before entering the ministry was as a successful Commercial Real Estate Broker in Cleveland for 18 years before answering the call to Unity Ministry in 1996.
After two years in Ministerial School at Unity Village, he served as minister of Unity Christ Church in St. Petersburg, FL for several years. Then, after a period of semi-retirement, he served as Interim Minister of Unity of Stuart for 14 months. On November 1, 2015 Rev. Ron accepted the part-time position of Minister for Unity of Port St. Lucie.
Rev. Ron’s wife Amy is a Licensed Unity Teacher who served as the Southeast Regional LUT Representative to Unity Worldwide Ministries for seven years. While Ron was attending Unity Ministerial School, Amy worked at Silent Unity for two years. She has organized, trained, and supervised Prayer Chaplains in two Unity churches.
Together, Rev. Ron and Amy serve at the Chautauqua Institution in New York during the summer months. The rest of the year, they enjoy their nine grandchildren in Florida. Unity of Port St. Lucie is blessed to have such experienced servants in our midst.
